Who says learning can’t be fun?

Certainly not the leadership team at Ambition who delivers “inspired play” in 6 day immersive programs in Pensacola, Florida. It all starts with the story— a heart-pumping, adrenaline-filled mission with squadrons competing to successfully finish a task. Whether it is a race or rescue, science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) skills are used in tandem with the equally important 21st Century learning skills including critical thinking, problem-solving, teamwork and communication to advance the team.

Ambition is next-generation innovative play. From the theme park-like sight and sound to premier technology available for students— the experience is unparalleled. Individuals and groups are both welcomed, providing the opportunity for a exceptional team-building adventure.

Students who have completed 6th grade but have not yet graduated high school live for six days in a multi-story structure. The first deck houses the galley, mess deck, administrative spaces and the main simulator bays. The second deck comprises most of the dedicated academic spaces and contains all Simulation and Immersion Center spaces. The third and fourth decks are dedicated to berthing, student aviator lounges and activity rooms. Student experience theme-park style thrills surrounded by advanced technology, flight simulators and virtual reality missions that ignite imagination and encourage learning.

While living aboard Ambition, Ambition eXperimental Pilots (AXPs) are enveloped in life as a Naval Aviator aboard a modern aircraft carrier. Missions progressively become more challenging throughout the week as the AXPs advance their aviation science skills as well as their communication skills.

At the National Flight Academy, our goal is to engage, inspire and motivate students. We are the world’s premiere educational experience where the excitement and wonder of flight ignites our youth’s passion for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. We are the perfect program for all students!

Cost for one 6-day Overnight Deployment is $1,250.

Cruises are designed for students 5th-12th grade as an introduction to the National Flight Academy’s flagship, Deployment program. For three days, students stay overnight and are exposed to a variety of concepts including Meteorology, Aerodynamics, Mathematics, Bathymetry, Physics, Basics of Flight, Ballistics and Search and Rescue fundamentals. Through an established base of knowledge, AXPs will work in a team squadron format to collaborate and complete missions. Facilitators and chiefs challenge them to use critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, innovation, teamwork & information gathering as well as communication technology literacy and adaptability. The National Flight Academy builds heart-pumping, adrenaline-filled story line, which brings life to the mission as if the students are in a real-world scenario.

Students apply these skills by flying the high-performance X-12 Triad, the National Flight Academy’s experimental aircraft, offering them hands-on comprehension of the principles of flight thrust, hovering and target drops.

Cruises can accommodate private, public and home school organizations any time throughout the year. Our curriculum reinforces concepts covered in the classroom in a unique, immersive simulated environment.

Cost for one 3-day Overnight Cruise is $399.

Adventures are a unique, one day opportunity which introduces students in grades K-12th to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) skills. During an Adventure, students enjoy lunch on the mess deck and fly the X-12 Triad, the National Flight Academy’s experimental aircraft.

STEM Plus 21st Century Skills

Ambition eXperimental Pilots (AXPs) will become fundamentally aware of the integration of mathematics and science into their daily lives by measuring, collecting, analyzing and interpreting data. National Common Core Standards for Math and Science as well as National Benchmarks in both mathematics and science will be addressed in the core curriculum. In addition, critical thinking, communication, collaboration, creativity and other learning skills are valuable assets gained from the experience.
